Where an inspection finds activity or real risk, this is the work that keeps them out. A chemical barrier means trenching and treating the soil against the slab edge, drilling and injecting through paths and driveways, and treating around every service penetration, so there is a continuous treated zone the colony has to cross. A monitored bait ring suits houses where the perimeter cannot be trenched. Both are installed to AS 3660.2, both come with a durable notice in the meter box, and both need the annual inspection to stay live.

Included in the price

  • Soil trenched and treated against the full slab edge
  • Paths, patios and driveways drilled, injected and patched
  • Service penetrations, pipe entries and cold joints treated
  • Bait stations installed and monitored where trenching is not possible
  • Durable notice in the meter box and a written warranty

Asked every week

Asked about this job.

How long does a chemical barrier last?
Eight years on the products we install, provided the treated zone is not dug through. Adding a garden bed, a path or a pool over it can breach it, so tell us before you landscape and we will re-treat the section rather than the house.
Barrier or bait stations?
A barrier suits most slab on ground homes here and is the cheaper long term option. Stations suit houses where the perimeter is all concrete or the slab edge is buried, and where you would rather intercept a colony than repel it.
Do I still need the yearly inspection?
Yes. Every warranty, ours included, depends on it, because a barrier is a line the colony has to cross rather than a wall. The inspection is what catches a breach before it costs you timber.

  • Two days of trenching and drilling, patched the path so well I had to look for it. Warranty and the notice in the meter box came through with the invoice.
