Ants on a bench are the end of a road that starts somewhere outside. We trace the run back along the skirting, through the wall cavity and out to the slab edge, work out which species we are dealing with, then treat the nest and the run with a bait or a residual matched to it. The entry point gets sealed or packed before we leave, which is the part most quotes skip. Coastal brown ant, black house ant, white footed house ant and Argentine ant all behave differently, and the treatment changes with them.

Why do the ants come back after a spray?
A surface spray kills the workers you can see and leaves the nest untouched, so the colony sends more. We bait or treat the nest itself, then close the way in, which is why the trail stops instead of pausing.
Do I have to empty the pantry first?
No. We work along the edges, the hinges and the wall junction rather than through your food, so you do not need to clear the cupboards out before we arrive.
How long until the trail stops?
Two to four days for most homes. Baited colonies look busier for the first day, which is the bait being carried home, and that is the part that finishes them.
